Ian dury used something like this in "what a waste". . . It's the gurgling noise made when the last of the water runs down a bathroom sink plughole. Conveys almost as much meaning as a cistern flushing, but in a shorter time (smaller file size). As ever (with my stuff) no "noises off" and so ready for mixing!.

A huge thunder/hailstorm recorded in pretoria, south africa at around 16:36. The radar reflectivity of this storm was around 63dbz. Recorder used: zoom h1 built in microphones. Please comment or suggest anything.

The tail end of a rumble of thunder. I chopped off everything above 1. 5khz or so, since is was all background noise. Recorded with a tascam dr-07 mk. Ii microphone and a røde dead kitten windscreen.

The sound of rain falling interspersed with rumbles of thunder at varying volumes. A lovely, rich recording. The audio is raw, so you'll need to amplify it to suit your needs. This was recorded in-person with a tascam dr-40 stereo recorder and a faux-fur wind guard due to occasional breezes. Public domain: i have released this audio file into the public domain. I saw this huge storm brewing, so i put my laptop next to an open window, thinking that i might record a nice atmospheric recording of rain and light thunder, and i caught this thing, no more than 500m away. I had the sensitivity turned all the way up, and the microphone i am using isn't the best, but someone might get a use of it :).

Brief recording of recent rainstorm in bay area, california, taken with tascam dp-008ex stereo onboard condenser mics.

Captured on my zoom h4n. I open the door and the wind noise get louder. Around :50 it really starts to gust. There is a dog bark in the distance around 1:12. There is a little mic rumble throughout. I had it covered with a windshield and was standing just inside the door frame to try to prevent additional rumble. No need to credit. Use it as you would like.
